Travelling to the Dordogne
There are 4 airports within a 2 hour drive. A NEW AIRPORT IS DUE TO OPEN IN JUNE 2010, THIS WILL BE A 40 MIN DRIVE AWAY - see below for updated information.

Bergerac at 83 kims is currently the closest and it is a pretty drive (non-autoroute) taking approx 1.5 hours.
Limoges and Toulouse via the A20 autoroute 2 hours.
Rodez non-autoroute 2 hours.
All have low cost airline companies operating from them and car hire.

BY CAR - approximately 40 minutes from the A20 autoroute, exit 55 Souillac. It is approximately a 9 hour drive from the channel ports.
BY RAIL FROM PARIS - it is easier to stop at Brive station where there is car hire available (not on Sundays). We are within an hours drive from Brive via the A20 autoroute.

PLEASE NOTE THAT A CAR IS ESSENTIAL IN THE DORDOGNE AS THERE ARE NO LOCAL BUS SERVICES IN OPERATION.
New Airport - Brive Souillac International
UPDATE DEC 2009
There is a new airport under construction between Souillac and Brive. This will be a 40 minute drive from La Cachette. The opening date for this new airport has now been confirmed as June 2010. It is reported that discussions are being held with 3 low cost airlines; Ryanair, Easyjet and BMI Baby. We will update this as soon as the routes and operators are announced.
